Teacher Appreciation–Real World Examples!

I told you yesterday that lots of fun stuff would be happening to celebrate Teacher Appreciation this year! As you all know, we have the most important job in the world…the rewards are priceless! As times change, we change…and there is very little glory along the way! Today I vote that we celebrate and appreciate some of the teachers WE have had that formed us into the people and teachers we are.

I’ll start…

One of the best teachers I ever had was my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Saffian!  Although I remember very little about 1975, I DO remember that she recognized something special in me and treated me a little differently than the other kids.  I was already a reader and she did little book groups with me . . . she gave me spelling lists to study . . . all the while she made sure I learned to share, get over my unbelievable shyness, and to make believe and pretend.  For years I wondered why she treated me so differently until I started to realize that–maybe–she made EVERY child feel that way!  I hope that I every day I make sure that I give every one of my students the feeling that I think THEY are the best and need something special.  OK–YOUR turn!  Share about one of your best teachers…I can’t wait to hear all your stories!

Also EXCITING NEWS!  This Tuesday and Wednesday TpT is having a huge store-wide sale!  I will be offering 20% off EVERYTHING (even hoping to have at least 2 new products available!) and TpT offers an additional % off.  This is a great time to stock up!

Use code “TAD13” to get the extra % off!
Isn’t that the cutest sign from
Anyways–thanks again to all of you for your support!  Watch for upcoming blog posts about area and perimeter and more!
By the way…I have made a “freebie” out of a few pages of one of my new word problem sets!  If you haven’t had time to check out the new format, grab the freebie and see what you think!  Let me know either here or in the feedback section of TpT! Thanks!
